Muromachi Hishi-Toji samurai armor (cross-knot samurai armor) was worn in battle by high-ranking samurai during the late Muromachi - Sengoku period.
Our kachi class model is made with a Tosei Okegawa Ni-mai Do (two-piece hinged breastplate) and is composed of 14 individual steel armor plates that are connected by hand with odoshi (laces).
As with the Taisho and Gashira class Muromachi Hishi-Toji, total assembly takes over 50 hours. The O-Sode (shield like shoulder armor), has a colorful kebiki-odoshi style lacing (also called "full lacing") that our craftsmen are happy to color for you, in different patterns or shapes.
This colored lacing gives the armor a beautiful, vibrant look, just like the classic samurai of legends.
Each suit of armor comes pre-fitted for a person between 5'10" and 5'11" with an average body type. The armor can be easily adjusted.
- Fully functional armor, size: 180×76×76 cm
- The standard size armor is suitable for people between 160 cm and 185 cm tall with an average body type.
- Painted, high quality Odoshi cotton colors and traditional features.
- 100% handmade by an experienced armor smith.
