Naruto, a Japanese ninja anime

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a teenage ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and the village. But, he is shunned by everyone because of Kyûbi, a fox demon sealed inside him at birth. Naruto Uzumaki dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. As the anime progresses, Naruto will try to gain the trust of his fellow villagers by becoming stronger and stronger. The story of this manga turns at the very beginning around four protagonists: Naruto of course, but also Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiwa and their master (also called sensei) Kakashi Hatake.

Ninja weapons used in the Naruto manga

In Naruto manga, ninjas use various weapons to use their techniques and defeat their opponent. To list them all here would be too long, as they are so numerous. There are more than 100 of them that we meet throughout the anime. However, some of them come back more often than others like kunai and shurikens.

Sasuke's katana: Kusanagi no Tsurugi

If I talk about sword in Naruto anime, you will probably think about Sasuke. During all the part 2 of the anime, Sasuke used a very powerful sword named Kusanagi no Tsurugi (in French, épée coupeuse d'herbe). This katana is a chokuto, a straight Japanese sword which is not curved like a katana. The use of a chokutô is different from a katana, because unlike the latter, the chokutô is made for piercing and stabbing and not for cutting. The sword was kept in a black scabbard that Sasuke wore at his belt. This weapon allowed Sasuke to infuse his chakra into the metal to strike from a distance. Unfortunately, during his fight against Madara, Sasuke lost his precious katana in the Kaguya dimension.
